Charities close to our heart
We’re a hotel
with a conscience
We encourage guests to immerse themselves in the culture, engage in altruistic experiences, absorb, engage and explore. We take our responsibilities to the environment, local communities, suppliers and partners, customers and our staff very seriously. We strive to always work with sustainability at the forefront of everything we do.
Over 1 million bottles are purchased every minute around the world and 80% end up in a landfill and oceans. The average person in the UK will use 150 plastic water bottles each year. If just one in ten Brits refilled once a week we’d have 340 million fewer water bottles a year in circulation. We work closely with City to Sea, an award-winning, not-for-profit organisation campaigning to stop plastic pollution.

World Food Programme

Recipients of the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize, the World Food Programme is the largest humanitarian organisation working toward zero hunger by 2030. WFP is the first on the scene in an emergency, providing food and other assistance to the victims of conflict, drought, floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, crop failures and pandemics. At the same time, they concentrate on sustainable development, promoting long term change by working in partnership with national governments.

The foundation works tirelessly to ensure that all wild animals, whether living in captivity or the wild, are treated with compassion and respect and can live their lives according to their needs. As a leading wildlife charity, they oppose the exploitation of wild animals in captivity and campaign to keep them where they belong – in the wild. They promote Compassionate Conservation to enhance the survival of threatened species in the wild and protect natural habitats while respecting the needs and safeguarding the welfare of individual animals.
The Born Free Foundation seeks to have a positive impact on animals in the wild and protect their ecosystems in perpetuity, for their intrinsic value and for the critical roles they play within the natural world.
The Born Free Foundation
The largest woodland conservation charity in the UK supporting over 1000 woods of their own, free to visit anytime. The Woodland Trust creates havens for wildlife, plants millions of trees each year, restores damaged ancient woodlands and protects and develops hedgerows throughout the four nations. It also campaigns for new, protective legislation.

For 35 years, the Matthew Project has been supporting vulnerable adults and young people in the East of England. Their work, focuses on reducing drug and alcohol misuse with young people under 18, providing support for both young people and adults in recovery, and improving individuals’ mental wellbeing.
Over this time, they have built up a reputation for delivering high quality, effective services, focusing on both prevention and treatment. They believe that every person, no matter their age or background, deserves the chance to improve their physical and mental wellbeing.

We actively support the charitable causes above contributing a percentage of the income we receive from each and every guest booking.
