The Skiing
Austria, in our opinion currently offers the best all round ski experience of any Alpine nation. Nearly all resorts - large or small continually invest in their ski infrastructure - new lifts, new piste and always improved snow making facilities. Piste management is second to none - outstanding infact and prices are some of the keenest in europe currently. You'll always be welcome, you'll always be pleased with the service.

The Austrian Tyrol is one of the worlds greatest ski paradises. The restaurants and bars are as much a part of the experience as the slopes and that's saying something considering there are at least 3900km of piste, 1700 lifts and some of the best resorts anywhere - such as Mayerhofen, Kitzbuhel and St Anton. As well as offering excellent skiing for beginners and intermediates, families and children Niederau is close to many of the Tyrol's best resorts.

The Kitzbuhler Alps are one of the most fascinating ski regions in the world: seven of the best ski areas in Tirol and Salzburg offer guests guaranteed snow, variety and state-of-the-art cable cars and lifts. More than 1000 km of pistes, 350 cable cars and lifts and 250 ski huts wait to be explored with the Kitzbüheler Alpen AllStarCard (7 ski regions in the Kitzbüheler Alpen with one ski pass). The season in the Kitzbüheler Alps begins in November with glacier skiing on the Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun. The Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See captivates guests with its great family offers and 5 long valley descents. The Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang ski circus offers guaranteed snow with 90% of the 200 km of pistes being covered. The Kitzbühel ski area with the legendary Streif descent and spectacular 3S cable car is located at the heart of the region. The SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental, Austria’s largest consecutive ski region, has won many awards, most recently as the best international ski region in 2009. The Schneewinkel incorporates the free-riding ski area of Fieberbrunn, the family-friendly Steinplatte in Waidring and the ski area of St. Johann in Tirol with its many cosy mountain huts. The high valley of Wildschönau is home to the region’s highest ski resorts and the ski area ofAlpbachtal – the perfect ski area for leisure skiing.

BEGINNERS – Wildschonau combined lift pass recommended
Renowned as one of The Worlds best resorts for beginners. The extensive nursery slopes are in and close to the village centre while the blue runs on the upper slopes are wide and gentle.

INTERMEDIATES – Wildschonau combined lift pass recommended
Good intermediate skiing on a number of blue and red slopes at the top of the gondola and a long red back down to the village. Auffach close by, and utilising the same lift pass offers an extensive range of challenging slopes. Best of all is the long blue and red decent from the top of the Schatzberg gondola to the village. New for this season to compliment the four man chair lift to the top of Larnekopfl the black run right back down to resort level.

EXPERIENCED SKIERS - 'All Star Card' recommended
By combining the more challenging red and black runs above Niederau and in Auffach the accomplished skier can enjoy two or possibly three days of fantastic skiing. Less than ten minutes from Niederau lies Hopfgarten and access to the famous Ski Welt – the largest linked ski circuit in the world!
Less than 30 minutes from Niederau by car is the wonderful resort of Alpbach which offers a great days skiing, some of the highest runs in the area and lots of decents through the trees. About the same distance away is the Ziller Valley with access to Gerlos from Zell am Ziller and the famous resort of Mayerhofen a little further along.

BOARDING
Perfect for first timers and intermediates and further afield for accomplished boarders. Auffach offers a comprehensive and well maintained board park including a 90meter Half Pipe.

Close by in Westendorf is one of Austria’s premier board parks.
